CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Beginner Yoga: For anyone new to Yoga or experienced students looking for a refresher on the basics.  Each teacher brings their own unique style to the class.  Beginners Welcome.

Community Reiki & IET Clinic with Briel Driscol, Maggie McCuiston, Nikki Roszko, Tegan Hagy & Sean Jacobs

Walk-Ins are welcome!  There are 3 practitioners available for treatments each week.  There are no appointments required but if you have a special request for a session with a particular practitioner please email us ahead of time at hawthorneyoga@gmail.com.  Community Reiki and IET gives you an energy boost and deep healing at the most affordable price around!  Experience a 15 minute session of Reiki or Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) in a comfortable communal setting.  This is hands-on, one-on-one healing with a single practitioner.  You are welcome to stay in the room for an additional 15 minutes after your session to absorb the healing energy of the space.  Before your treatment, you will be able to discuss your specific healing needs and intentions (in private) directly with your practitioner.  Your personal information will be kept confidential.  *$10 to $20 sliding scale or 2 class cards.*  All are welcome!

GYROKINESIS®: A three-dimensional exercise modality to enhance the body’s natural movement. It is designed similarly to other movement classes, in which flow and rhythm are essential to the curriculum, thus no position holding or potential for energetic stagnation. By moving in connected, natural patterns, the body flows smoothly between contraction and extension, unlike conventional exercises, brings balanced support to the skeletal system. The client leaves feeling a relaxed and elongated spine and articulation in the shoulders, hips, and knees.  Beginners welcome.

Hatha Yoga:  A moderate practice which includes traditional asana (poses) held for long durations, enabling focus on the breath.  Particular emphasis will be on standing postures and abdominal work.  All classes will end with a systematic relaxation and lead into a short, seated meditation. This class is appropriate for all levels––from beginner to advanced.

Pre-Natal Yoga: A series specifically designed for pregnant women.  Each 8 week session explores how Yoga can support women throughout their pregnancy and labor, incorporating Breathwork, Meditation, Yoga postures and discussion.  Pace of class is gentle, yet strengthening, aimed at toning the body and easing the mind.  Equally important is the vibrant community that comes through Pre-Natal practice!  Visit Samantha’s website for details on her unique approach to Yoga.  Pre-Registration preferred (sejslade@gmail.com), walk-ins welcome. $12 minimum for Pre-Natal.

Reiki Share: A comfortable place for Reiki practitioners or those new to the practice.  Certified practitioners of Reiki and similar modalities (IET, Chi healing, etc) can trade sessions with others in a supportive, group setting.  Those who are not certified in a specific modality but wish to learn more about energy healing are welcome to attend and ask questions, observe, meditate, and possibly receive a sample treatment.  The more people in the room, the more the healing is amplified!  Beginners welcome.

Shamanic Meditation: A guided meditation focusing on introduction and communication with your Spirit guides and helpers.  This new twist on the Shamanic Journey is readily accesible to anyone at any level.  No experience with Shamanism or Meditation required.  Beginners welcome.

Vinyasa Yoga: A dynamic series of poses linking breath with movement.  You will likely break a sweat in this challenging yet peaceful approach to Yoga.  There is a flow to the class which helps unlock stagnant energy.  For intermediate students.

Vinyasa Yoga & Reiki:  We will build up heat in the body during the first 30 minutes of class with a fast paced Vinyasa sequence. From there melt into the ground with a few Yin Yoga poses complete with a series of mini Reiki sessions. The Reiki continues with a guided meditation/pranayama and extended savasana.  This class is for students with a regular Yoga practice. It is recommended that you receive at least 60 minutes of Reiki or attend Beginner Yoga & Reiki a few times prior to trying this class.

Beginner Yoga & Reiki: A unique blending of Yin Yoga poses, short Reiki treatments, Yogic breathing techniques, guided meditation and extended shavasana (final rest).  Manifest what you are looking for in your life by focusing on a specific healing request or just open up to the healing energy of the moment.  This class was developed by Sean Jacobs in 2009 as a way to bring the Yoga and Reiki communities together.  Visit Sean’s website for more information on his style and philosophy: www.jacobshealing.com.  Beginners welcome.
