Jill Jones, Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher
Iyengar Yoga Series, Tuesday afternoons in November

Jill began her study of yoga in the Iyengar tradition in 1994 with her primary teacher, Joan White. The Iyengar method’s emphasis on inward focus and awareness through detailed alignment, which B.K.S. Iyengar refers to as meditation in action, captivated Jill’s interest and she has remained a dedicated student of this method. It also shares with other styles of yoga full range of body movement, with endlessly creative and ever-evolving variations and therapeutic applications, making this practice accessible to all. Jill began to teach in 2002, as a way to deepen her commitment and share this practice with others. Teaching has become an essential part of the learning process and practice for Jill. Her goal in teaching is to pass on the tradition as faithfully and passionately as possible and to help spark passion for the subject of yoga & self-study in others. She continues to train under Joan, as well as with other senior Iyengar teachers as frequently as time and funds will allow. She’ll be spending her first month in India at  the Iyengar Institute in October 2011.

In her personal life she is always trying to further her holistic approach to living. She has been practicing yoga for over 10 years having started her studies in Nosara, Costa Rica with Jane Marchant. She spent 6 months on a spiritual journey through India practicing yoga and meditation.  Michal Waldfogel, CYT
Intermediate Hatha Yoga 10:00am Tuesdays, Beginner’s Yoga Series 12:00pm Tuesdays

Yoga inspires Michal to meet life’s adventures with ease, grace, and humor: whether it be climbing a mountain, learning a language, or waiting for SEPTA.  Like that time she was riding her bike uphill and noticed her jaw clenched.  “Oh,” she realized, “this is just like chair pose (Utkatasana)!  I need to relax here.”  And so, through yoga, Michal is ever gaining strength and flexibility: physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  Having completed a 250 hour yoga teacher training with Wake Up Yoga in Philadelphia and perpetually studying, she is humbled to be able to offer what she learns to others.  She seeks to meet students where they are and go from there, emphasizing that yoga is meant to serve the student, not the other way around.  Each class offers students an opportunity to “take yoga off the mat” by applying yoga principles to their daily life.  Which, you know, can come in handy next time the phone company puts you on hold or you’re being chased by lions or something.

Stacia Nero, CYT
Vinyasa Yoga 4:30pm Tuesdays, 6pm Tuesdays and 12pm Wednesdays

Stacia Nero is a graduate of the Dhyana Yoga Teacher Training Program. She fell in love with yoga in 2003, after an ACL and meniscus reconstructive knee surgery. Prior to the knee injury she was an active athlete and dedicated dancer. Without these tools she used to define herself she had to search for something that could make her happy and appreciate the mind-body connection again. Throughout her life Stacia has experienced severe depression and anxiety; therapy and medication never seemed to fully correct the tension inside her. Yoga has been the key to curbing that anxiety and it brings a natural tranquility to her life. She wants to pass that same calmness on to others.  She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, NJ in 2005 and soon after became a student at Temple University. She is still pursuing her academic endeavors as well as professional career opportunities. In addition, she wants to spread the ancient yoga practices and holistic modalities to an ever-increasing technologically advanced western world. She wants everyone to be comfortable in their own skin, and to let their freak flag fly. She will bring a creative energy to the classroom, allowing you to play with the positions and make the practice personal to you.  ”May people everywhere be happy and free” -Namastacia
